Job Overview

The role is part of the Global Project & Program Management organization.

 

As Sustainability Project Portfolio Manager, are in charge of ensuring a deep integration between CTO, Sustainability and other relevant SHL functions in the context of the overall Sustainability program of SHL, allowing alignment on the strategic direction of related projects, constant update on their progress, participating and contributing to global steering meetings, as and when relevant, and sponsoring sustainability technical initiative towards SHL customer.

 

As a Senior Project Manager, they are in charge of the successful execution, from project intake/project planning to end of validation/handover to production, of sustainability related technical projects (e.g. product development, manufacturing capacity development) within SHL Medical. They manage cross-functional teams to ensure that project requirements, deadlines, schedules and budget are managed within the set project goals, consistently with SHL QMS, with Global Project & Program Management processes, and with the Product Management strategy.

 

Main Responsibilities

Sustainability Project Portfolio Manager:

  • Work closely with CTO, Sustainability, and other relevant SHL functions to ensure deep integration between the functions on sustainability topics.
  • Ensure alignment to a long-term strategic direction for the sustainability projects in CTO.
  • Provide regular reporting on the CTO sustainability portfolio level about budget, milestones, risk; establish an active communication channel to team members, stakeholders and customers; work in close collaboration with key stakeholders at issues resolution.
  • Act as the key point of contact and representative for the CTO organization towards the Sustainability Steering Committee for the assigned project portfolio. Participate in and contribute to the Sustainability Steering Meetings as and when relevant.
  • Act as ambassador towards the customer for the sustainability project portfolio in CTO.

 

Senior Project Manager:

  • Define project scope, objectives and major milestones in alignment with sponsor and internal program and product managers. 
  • Manage tasks and resources of a complex project with multiple sub-projects with interdependent tasks, and forecast resources needed to reach objectives.  
  • Manage multiple projects and delegate responsibilities to sub-project leads.  
  • Define and manage work packages, project phases and sub-projects to coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless project execution in time, cost and quality. 
  • Track and manage the project schedule and ensure the availability of deliverables on time. Track and manage the project budget according to the approved project order.  
  • Create a meeting structure, communication process and regular reporting on budget, milestones, risks; establish an active communication channel to team members, stakeholders and customers. 
  • Provide monthly reports to PMO and other stakeholders about milestones, budget status, deliverables, risks, required adjustments, and overall progress. 
  • Manage communication with the customer, in coordination with Account Management/Business Development, and matrix reporting to the program manager in projects that are part of a wider program. 
  • Analyse and manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs and address claims that resulted from a change. Perform risk management and define mitigations to minimize project risks and escalate identified risks at an early stage.  
  • Organize and lead regular project team meetings to discuss project status, technical progress and coordinate tasks and resources to discuss and resolve project issues  
  • Organize project steering meetings with the defined steering team to oversee project status, provide guidance and advice   
  • Organize design review meetings and gate review meetings with local and global stakeholders  
  • Follow the global PM process with respect to harmonized global PM practices, methods and tools.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years in project management of product development projects, with preference in the medical device, automotive, aerospace sectors  
  • ​​Sustainability projects
  • Profound knowledge of project management processes, methodologies and tools & techniques  
  • Advanced problem-solving skills 
  • ​Ability to encourage and enable people to work together as a team to reach common goals 
  • ​Ability to influence decisions making in pursuing project objectives​ 
  • ​Reporting, communicating, presenting and collaborating with steering groups, C-level stakeholders and with customers
  • ​​Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification preferred​ 
  • Experience with injection moulding products
  • Relatively high seniority to ensure collaboration with C-Levels, Managing Director and other senior staff on eye level.​
