Job Overview

This role is embedded in the Operations Engineering Team within our Global Operations Engineering Department at our new state-of-the-art device manufacturing facility and HQ in Zug, Switzerland.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Primary SME for automated production equipment, with a focus on our downstream assembly operations and related equipment
  • Improve system & equipment reliability for the core processes to meet all customer, business & regulatory requirements 
  • Together with the rest of your team you will support the production for automated assembly of our autoinjector systems 
  • Lead engineering responsibility for production/product lines and corresponding assembly processes within our production system  
  • Collaborate closely with shopfloor production technicians, equipment builders and maintenance, quality and process development on performance/process improvements and trouble shooting 
  • Lead the development of improvement plans and requirements for capacity expansion and future assembly lines and production setups 
  • Lead improvement in initiatives and capacity deployment in device assembly 
  • Responsible for manufacturing acceptance of new assembly lines / processes in regular production 
  • Lead and perform validation activities for new equipment and processes as necessary 
  • Support Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and definition of manufacturing requirements for new products

 

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant hands-on experience in automated manufacturing and/or development of highly automated, high-volume production systems and processes  
  • Direct experience troubleshooting and/or improving manufacturing processes & equipment
  • Familiar with Schneider and Beckhoff PLC based systems, common sensor and actuator system, and vision technologies
  • SCADA and MES implementation experience
  • Proven expertise in planning/organization/execution of maintenance activities, following up on results, & revising the work plan for complex problems being resolved by cross functional teams 
  • Knowledge of common problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies
  • Passionate & committed self-starter with “can do” attitude, team player and taking responsibility to get the job done 
  • Ability to work independent with strong attention to detail and focus on efficiency, effectiveness and cost 
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent education/experience in a relevant field  
  • Previous exposure to a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical, pharmaceutical) and knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. ISO13485, cGMP) is a plus 
  • Experience with Siemens PLC based systems is a plus
  • Willingness to initially spend an extended period in our facility in Taiwan for induction/training is a plus 
  • Six Sigma methodology knowledge and certification is a plus
