Job Overview

The Logistics Manager Production leads end-to-end logistics operations for the production site in Zug, including on-site warehousing, material flow to production, coordination with the external 3PL warehouse, and outbound shipments.

As part of a greenfield manufacturing site, the role is key in building and implementing logistics processes, systems, and operational standards to support the site ramp-up.

Working closely with Production, Planning, Quality, IT, Procurement, Finance, and logistics partners, the position ensures efficient, compliant, and reliable material flows. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with the opportunity to grow into team leadership as operations scale.

Main Responsibilities

Warehouse & Logistics Operations

  • Manage on-site warehouse operations for raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Ensure efficient internal material flow between warehouse and production.
  • Support warehouse layout, storage concepts, and optimized material flow while ensuring GDP/GMP, EHS, and quality compliance.

3PL & Inventory Management

  • Manage the operational relationship with external 3PL providers and oversee replenishment of materials to the site.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and alignment between physical and system inventory (SAP/EWM).
  • Support inventory controls, cycle counts, audits, and KPI reporting.

Outbound Logistics & Transportation

  • Coordinate finished goods shipments, transportation bookings, and shipping documentation.
  • Ensure delivery performance and compliant, cost-effective logistics solutions.

Logistics Processes & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and implement logistics processes, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Support SAP S/4HANA EWM process design, testing, and stabilization.
  • Provide logistics training, support ramp-up/go-live phases, and drive continuous improvement with global supply chain teams.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in logistics / supply chain, preferably in a regulated environment (MedTech, Pharma, or similar).
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, material flows, and inventory management.
  • Strong hands-on operational mindset combined with process design capability.
  • Experience working with SAP S/4HANA and warehouse management systems.
  • Solid understanding of inbound, internal, and outbound logistics processes.
  • Cost- and service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, build-up / ramp-up environment.
  • Practical experience in logistics provider and/or in-house logistics functions.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Fluent in written and spoken German

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience with SAP EWM.
  • Experience working with automated warehouse / intralogistics solutions (e.g. Servus, Gebhardt, similar).
  • Exposure to greenfield projects, site start-ups, or major transformations.
  • Experience managing or coordinating external logistics service providers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
