Job Overview

This role supports SHL Medical's Taiwan in delivering Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) capabilities for medical device platforms. The role ensures robust cradle-to-gate LCA execution, develops standardized procedures aligned with ISO 14040 and PAS 2090, and improves data quality to meet rising customer demands for carbon emissions data and sustainable product alternatives. The position also supports sales team calculating data for customers (product specific only) and SHL's circularity strategy. 

Main Responsibilities 

•Conducts screening and detailed Life Cycle Assessment calculations for products, processes and supply chains using commercial standard tools (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA) and industry best practices.

•Elaborate ISO- compliant reports to substantiate external communications

•Develops life cycle models, elaborate assessments and provide actionable recommendations to reduce environmental impacts based on LCA findings.

•Contributes to the development and implementation of processes needed for the assessment of environmental impacts associated with SHL products and processes using Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) approaches. Ensure alignment of procedures with international and industry-specific standards. 

•Ensure data quality by working with suppliers and stakeholders to fill gaps and validate inputs.

•Leverage sustainability databases, explore and implement advanced LCA tools and carbon accounting methodologies to enhance analysis capabilities. 

•Partner with procurement teams to evaluate the environmental impact of materials and suppliers.

•Train internal stakeholders on LCA and carbon accounting fundamentals to build organizational knowledge.

• 運用永續資料庫，研究並導入進階 LCA 工具及碳盤查方法，以提升分析效率與準確性。 

• 與採購團隊合作，評估材料與供應商之環境影響，支持永續供應鏈管理。

• 培訓內部同仁 LCA 與碳盤查相關基礎知識，提升組織整體永續管理能力。

Mandatory 

•3+ years of practical experience conducting LCAs for industrial products or manufacturing environments.

•Working knowledge of LCA tools (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA), frameworks and standards (ISO 14067, ISO 14044, PAS2090)

•Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).

•Good English language skills, able to communicate complex topics and writing reports

•Good communication and collaboration skills to engage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

• 具備 3 年以上於工業產品或製造環境中執行生命週期評估（LCA）的實務經驗

• 熟悉 LCA 工具（如 SimaPro、GaBi、openLCA）、相關方法框架與標準（ISO 14067、ISO 14044、PAS 2090） 

• 具備良好的數據分析能力，並熟練使用 Excel 等資料分析工具 • 具備良好的英文能力，能夠溝通複雜議題並撰寫報告

Desirable (nice to have) 

• Strong project management and organizational abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Familiarity with third review process 

• 2+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and/or chemical industries in manufacturing/R&D environments.

• Familiarity with ISCC plus certification 4.2. Relevant Qualification/education and training Bachelor or master’s in environmental science, Engineering, or other related fields that involve environmental impact assessment and LCA
