Job Overview
The Indirect Procurement Assistant Manager is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for indirect categories, including maintenance, repair, operations (MRO), facilities management, equipment, and services required to maintain the organization’s infrastructure and non-production activities. This role ensures optimal supplier performance, cost control, and timely delivery while aligning with business goals and operational needs. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and global procurement functions to deliver value across the indirect spend portfolio.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect categories (MRO, services, capital goods, facilities, etc.).
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
- Manage supplier performance and relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and service expectations are met.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as facilities, maintenance, engineering, and operations to understand requirements and priorities.
- Support budgeting and cost optimization initiatives by analyzing total cost of ownership (TCO), spend patterns, and contract effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
- Lead or support procurement-related projects, process improvements, and supplier consolidation initiatives.
- Maintain procurement documentation, supplier records, contracts, and performance metrics.
- Work in coordination with global procurement/category managers to leverage group strategies and contracts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5–7 years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably in manufacturing, facilities, or industrial environments.
- Proven expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis.
- Strong understanding of MRO, CAPEX, and indirect service categories, with hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- High standards of professional integrity, problem-solving ability, and a focus on continuous improvement.
