【Job Overview】
The Associate Project Manager is in charge for the successful implementation of a specific project or project work packages as assigned within SHL Medical under supervision or support from mentor and/or team leader. He/she will work closely with all team members to ensure, that project requirements, deadlines and schedules are always on track. Overall responsibilities are planning, budgeting, resource allocation as well as project risk management and project team leadership.
The Associate Project Manager will be responsible for managing less complex (simple or small in scale) projects and leading various disciplines in executing the required deliverables under a highly regulatory/GMP environment. The ability to interact with customers, internal stakeholders and cross-functional team leads from project initiation through the entire design and development process is a must.
【Main Responsibilities】
- Acts as project manager on product lifecycle and/or less complex design and development of medical devices/equipment projects
- Acts a work package project manager on a more complex projects with the supervision of a Lead project manager.
- Assist/support Projects Managers on assigned/delegated project tasks
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Responsibilities when acting as project manager in assigned projects (with supervision):
- Maintain project oversight over all disciplines, escalate any issues as appropriate to higher level management
- Define project scope, objectives and major milestones in alignment with sponsor and internal program and product managers.
- Establish and maintain appropriate structures to ensure communication, flow of information and documentation within the project.
- Ability to interact with customers, internal stakeholders and cross-functional team leads from project initiation through the entire design and development process
- Forecast resources needed to reach objectives
- Prepare budget based on scope of work and track project costs to meet budget
- Work with the Project Team to develop a detailed project schedule and work plan
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of the project
- Monitor project performance to identify areas for improvement and adjust as needed
- Perform project risk management to minimize project risks and escalate identified risks at an early stage
- Manage and track changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs and ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on planned changes
- Organize and lead regular project team meeting to exchange on current project status, to discuss current issues and possible solutions and to agree on further actions
- Provide project updates on a regular basis to various stakeholders about deliverables, required adjustments, and overall progress
- Follow the global PM process with respect to harmonized global PM practices, methods and tools.
【Required Skills & Qualifications】
- 3+ years of project management, or technical experience
- Strong administrative skills and proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook)
- Knowledge of project management processes, methodologies and tools & techniques and ability to adapt them to the organization
- Ability to encourage and enable people to work together as a team to reach common goals
- Ability to influence decisions that need to be made to make the project successful
Preferred:
- Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes, including injection molding of plastics, machining methods, rapid prototyping techniques, etc.
- Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
- Experience with digital Project Management tools like MS Project
- Experience in international collaboration programs and good at building professional networks
