Job Overview
This role as a Process Engineer for Packaging Component is focusing the project-related development of suitable packaging concepts for injection-molded components, metal parts, and subassemblies, including the design and development of vacuumed-formed tray for both, internal production turnover and final customer delivery.
The objective is to develop scalable, robust, and cost-efficient packaging solutions that fulfill our high quality requirements to accommodate changing customer demands and enable future growth. Assuring successful project delivery and process implementation in pro-active collaboration with interdisciplinary project teams and within agreed time and cost constraints are key aspects of this role.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize packaging concepts (incl. the selection and evaluation of trays, cartons, PE bags, pallets, containers, and other packaging material) for different components and sub-assemblies
- Coordinate and execute trial run to ensure successful process implementation and qualification
- Drive the cross-departmental collaboration with our Process Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
- Initiate and coordinate testing activities and experiments to prove the suitability of a chosen packaging design
- Document and maintain all technical information of the chosen packaging concepts incl. the creation of technical documentation, guidelines, and work instructions (incl. illustrations)
- Lead the technical process implementation for the introduction of new trays and coordinate the required development activities with our in-house tray factory and external vendors
- Contribute to internal innovation- and process development initiatives by recommending new or alternative technologies, processes, and equipment
- Safeguard all relevant specifications and comply with regulatory requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant university degree, ideally combined with 3-5 years of applicable work experience
- Understanding of packaging concepts with familiarity in 3D design software (Solidworks or CAD) and technical drawings
- Skilled in problem solving, logical thinking, and striving for operational excellence
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Independent, positive, and curious attitude
- Effective communication and presentation skills for diverse stakeholders
Preffered Qualifications
- Experience with vacuum forming or other tray forming technologies is a big plus
Language skills
- Must have: English (TOEIC 700 or above) ; Chinese
