PDAP - Senior Software Automation Engineer

Job Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in Assembly Process Development team Taiwan. you will play a crucial role in defining the assembly strategy, from early drug delivery system concept, to when a fully automated assembly line is handed over to operations.

You will work in a cross-functional team including peers, mechanical engineers, quality representatives and drug delivery system experts. Key responsibilities include commissioning new products on pilot/lab lines (Fanuc, TwinCAT), vision tasks (Python), automating data handling (React, .NET), support technical reviews and commissioning of commercial assembly lines. 

 

Main Responsibilities

  1. Commissioning pilot/lab lines:
    • Program 6-axis robots (FANUC Robot)
    • Program control system (TwinCAT)
    • Document, verify and validate software
    • Support overall commissioning and qualification activities
  2. Vision for quality inspection and flex feeding:
    • Program and tune vision algorithms (Python, OpenCV, YOLO)
    • Integrate robots with object detection programs for flexible feeding
    • Integrate pilot line with quality inspection programs (defect detection, measurements)
    • Document, verify and validate software
    • Comision and qualify flexible feeding systems
  3. Automating workflows and data handling:
    • Program front and backend for web app (React, .NET)
    • Implement functions for data collection, analysis and reporting
    • Implement functions for sequence editor to aid in generating TwinCAT and Robot code
    • Document, verify and validate software
  4. Commercial line Development:
    • Provide vision and control related requirements to establish equipment specifications
    • Provide vision and control related expertise in equipment design reviews and challenge proposed solutions
    • Support commissioning and qualification activates
    • Support root cause investigation activities, including executing lab and vision tests

 

Qualifications

  • Educational Background and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Automation or a related field
    • At least 3+ years of experience in automation environment and or related function
  • Technical Skills:
    • Robotics
    • Knowledge of or willingness to learn TwinCAT
    • Vision algorithms
    • Full stack web development
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration across disciplines
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn new tools and technologies
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Previous involvement in automation systems, process development, or industrial software development is a plus.

 

Language skills

  • Must have : Fluent in English - Strong intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills
