Job Overview
This role is embedded in the Automation Technology Group within our Global Operations Engineering team in Taiwan.
Main Responsibilities
- Improve system & equipment reliability for the core processes to meet all customer, business & regulatory requirements
- Lead control engineering responsibility for automated production lines and corresponding processes within our production network
- Support the development of new automated production lines as lead SME for automation/control engineering
- Collaborate closely with shop floor production technicians, equipment builders and maintenance, quality and process development on performance/process improvements and trouble shooting
- Development improvements and solutions for control/software related issues of existing automated production lines
- Root cause analysis and solution development support for external automation equipment vendors / service teams
- Support for manufacturing acceptance of new assembly lines / automated processes in regular production and the digitization of our existing production infrastructure
Qualifications
- Degree in Automation/Control Engineering or similar
- Several years of hands-on experience in programming PLC/IPC and SCADA systems, preferably for highly automated high-volume production setups
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing data acquisition frameworks for health monitoring automation systems
- Familiar with Siemens PLC based systems, high-speed actuators (servo motor, CAM rotary tables) and digital/analogue sensors (encoders, force gauges, vision systems)
- Knowledge of common problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies
- Passionate & committed self-starter with “can do” attitude, team player and taking responsibility to get the job done
- Ability to work independent with strong attention to detail and focus on efficiency, effectiveness and cost
- Knowledge of PLC systems such as Beckhoff IPCs (TwinCAT), Schneider, EcoStruxure, Rockwell/AB PLCs is a plus.
- Knowledge of Python, C++ and SQL programming is a plus
- Previous exposure to a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical, pharmaceutical) and knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. ISO13485, cGMP) is a plus
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin is a major plus

- Intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills; able to communicate effectively in English (verbal, written)
