Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to manage and optimize our network infrastructure globally. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure design and implementation. As an IT Network Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, managing and maintaining our company’s network infrastructure, including networking equipment, WAN connections, cloud network connections (primarily Azure and AWS, but encompassing other platforms) and on-premise connections between IT and OT.

All areas require skill and knowledge of troubleshooting, system maintenance and implementation, best practices, customer-focused communication, and a support attitude. You will report to the Head of Infrastrcuture in Taiwan and work closely with the IT teams in Switzerland, Taiwan, Sweden and the USA.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as a global technical lead to design, implement, and manage the network infrastructure globally to support the organization’s operations, ensuring the systems and services are reliable, secure, and scalable
  • Serve as a mentor for colleagues in network infrastructure and provide technical support and assistance to other teams when required.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to keep the systems current and in compliance with security and regulatory standards
  • Monitor the performance of the network infrastructure, identifying and addressing any areas of concern
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the IT/OT network infrastructure, collaborating with other teams as needed to identify and resolve problems
  • Develop and maintain documentation of the network infrastructure and processes, ensuring that it is accurate and up-to-date
  • Design and support of network cabling, fiber, CAT6, 6A & 7
  • Research new technologies and trends in IT/OT, recommending new tools and approaches to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the network infrastructure
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new IT/OT projects, working with other teams to ensure that the network infrastructure can support new initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team
  • Cooperate closely with the Information Security organization to enhance and improve security setups for network infrastructures
  • Support the development and execution of disaster recovery plans

 

Qualifications

  • Ideally, at least five years of experience in network infrastructure design, implementation, and management
  • Strong knowledge of IT network infrastructure but also including servers, virtualization, storage, and security, especially with the following technologies
    • Cisco networking
    • Fortigate firewall
    • A10/Citrix load balancer
    • HPE Blade systems
    • Cloud networking (primarily Azure and AWS, but encompassing other platforms)
    • Microsoft Active Directory domain services
    • Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers
    • VMware server virtualization
  • CCIE certificate is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with other teams and stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of IT/OT integration and interaction, with the ability to manage and maintain complex systems
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including cybersecurity and data protection requirements
  • Experience with project management and the ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to document and maintain accurate records of IT/OT infrastructure and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to document IT/OT processes and provide knowledge transfer to team members and end-users
  • Demonstrated customer interactions skills and teamwork competencies
  • Open-minded person, good listener, and outstanding readiness of mind to understand and handle user problems with a strong customer service orientation
  • Experience designing disaster recovery and contingency planning is a plus
  • Experience in Change Process Management is a plus
  • Very good verbal and written communication in both English and Chinese are mandatory
  • Willingness and ability to respond to urgent issues/calls in the evening, on nights, and at weekends, and coordinate with relevant team members to solve the issues
  • International business travel is essential
  • A high level of autonomy in combination with solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively
