Job Overview

The Industrial Designer is responsible for shaping next-generation drug-delivery devices through strong Industrial Design (ID), close collaboration with Usability Engineering (UE), and rigorous application of User-Centered Design (UCD) principles.

The role bridges form, function, usability, and brand, ensuring design solutions are aesthetically compelling, ergonomically sound, technically feasible, and supported by user evidence throughout the development lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to product design concepts for next-generation devices in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders (e.g. Business and Marketing, and Project Teams, especially Engineering, and Usability Engineering).
  • Translate user needs and requirements into high-quality visualizations, including sketches, renderings, CMF concepts, and 3D mock-ups.
  • Define and maintain product-specific graphic and visual design languages aligned with brand and platform strategies.
  • Develop color, material, and finish (CMF) concepts, including preparation, alignment, and verification with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain the Industrial Design Specification, ensuring traceability of design intent throughout development.
  • Actively collaborate with Usability Engineers to integrate UCD principles from early concept phases through validation.
  • Support Human Factors and Usability activities for internal development projects and customer programs, ensuring design decisions are informed by user insights.
  • Prepare models and prototypes (physical and digital) for internal reviews, formative user studies, and customer engagements.
  • Support and participate in user research activities, including observation, synthesis of findings, and design iteration.
  • Support cross-functional project teams with design expertise throughout all development phases.
  • Communicate design concepts and rationale clearly to internal stakeholders and external partners/customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience as an Industrial Designer, preferably in medical devices, regulated products, or complex consumer products.
  • Experience as an Industrial Designer with products for mass production.
  • Strong understanding of User-Centred Design and Human Factors principles, with hands-on experience collaborating with usability engineers.
  • Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills in Swedish and English and ability to work effectively in cross-functional, international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to translate user insights into robust, manufacturable design solutions.
  • High proficiency in CAD and visualization tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot or equivalent, Adobe Suite).
  • Experience in prototyping techniques, 3D-printing, and model making.

We Offer:

  • Challenging assignments in a fast-growing and innovative industry.
  • A multicultural team and modern working environment with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies.
  • A place where we take pride in the inclusive and collaborative environment we have built - one where a true sense of belonging fosters meaningful exchange and shared growth.
  • Various opportunities for personal and professional development within a global organization.
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working policy.
