Job Overview

The Sr. SAP PP & QM Engineer is a key member of the SHL Medical team supporting the ramp-up and continued success of the production operations at a newly constructed state-of-the-art facility located in North Charleston SC. The person will further implement and optimize SHL Medical’s production planning and quality business processes by analyzing current processes, collaborating with management on system integration, and implementation of integrated ERP solutions.  

 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Leads the analysis and resolution of complex SAP issues using advanced problem-solving and diagnostic skills. 
  • Owns and maintains comprehensive SAP documentation and ensures alignment with business and IT standards.
  • Upon request, provides user training and support. 
  • Leads the design and implementation of advanced PP & QM functionalities, ensuring alignment of local business goals with global standards (in consultation with global digital transformation team members).
  • Proactively understands and resolves data integrity issues across the business, which occur within various SAP logistics modules. 
  • Independently evaluates and re-engineers business processes, identifying system enhancement opportunities. 
  • Initiates and manages cross-functional process improvement and optimization projects within the assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Assesses significant risks, develops mitigation strategies, and leads root-cause analysis and resolution of non-conformances. 
  • Collaborates with the global digital transformation team to offer technical solutions and resolve issues.
  • Performs assigned duties, provides support to peers and junior engineers alike, and takes ownership of high-impact SAP functional responsibilities.

 

Skills and Qualification

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an SAP business analyst in a similar industry.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant business processes in SAP QM and PP and their integration with other systems.
  • Possess the foresight to identify and remedy potential problems before they arise.
  • Ability to acquire new knowledge, adapt to and contribute to fast moving environment.
  • Possess strong organizational, analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems, logistics, manufacturing, or in a related field preferred. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Ability to document master data processes and procedures for all tasks. 
  • Superb collaboration and communication skills. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, bending/stooping,
  • Travel (aircraft, auto driving) if needed
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Work Environment such as outside elements (heat or cold), office setting
