To be successful as an Intern with Process Development - Assembly Automation (PDAP) Department, you should be willing to help with any tasks assigned by a supervisor. You will be involved in upcoming projects as well as assisting with current tasks.
Main Responsibilities
Depending on the status and scope of ongoing projects, you will support the Senior Automation Process Engineer in one or more of the following areas:
- Process & Equipment Development: Support the design, development, and optimization of automated assembly processes and machinery to enhance operational efficiency.
- Technical Documentation: Contribute to the creation of process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Reporting & Communication: Assist in preparing technical reports and presentations summarizing findings, test results, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Root Cause Investigations: Conduct investigations into machine, product, and process deviations, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions.
In addition to supporting ongoing projects, you will also be given the opportunity to independently lead and drive your own improvement initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Drive Process Improvement Initiatives: Lead the development of new automation concepts and perform business case analyses to support investment in process enhancements
- Implementation of Improvements: Assist in implementing process enhancements aimed at increasing throughput, reducing cycle time, and improving product quality.
- Value Stream Mapping & Line Optimization: conduct value stream mapping, plan line balancing strategies, and identifying opportunities for process improvements and equipment upgrades.
- Process Analysis: Perform time studies, process capability analysis, and data evaluations
Minimum Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- PhD, Master’s, or Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration across disciplines.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn new tools and technologies.
- Strong intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills in English (spoken/written)
- Desirable Experience:
- Previous involvement in automation systems, process development, or industrial software development is a plus.
