Job Overview
We are offering a unique internship opportunity for students in Engineering or Applied Sciences with a passion for process optimization, logistics, and manufacturing engineering. You will work alongside our Global Operations Engineering Team to design and optimize factory operations and logistics systems, contributing to our mission of delivering world-class drug delivery systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and optimize production workflows, logistics, factory operations and systems.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and Process Automation to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Support the implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions to enhance digital manufacturing practices.
- Conduct data analysis using software tools such as Excel.
- Support projects within our Operations Engineering team in Switzerland and closely collaborate with our teams in Asia and North America.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams, providing technical insights.
Minimum Requirements
- Interest in high-volume production, process automation, control engineering and medical manufacturing.
- Knowledge and/or previous experience in one or more of the following fields: Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, Process Automation, Digital Manufacturing/I4.0, Factory planning, Logistics, Factory simulation; Injection molding / Polymer technology; Advanced automated assembly and packaging; PLC/SCADA
- Confident presentation skills, capable of delivering clear and compelling project updates, findings, and proposals to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Diligent, reliable and target oriented team player.
- Familiarity with data analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheet).
- Student in Engineering or Applied Sciences in a relevant field (System Engineering, Production Management/Logistics) or other equivalent education.
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Understanding of injection molding / automated assembly processes.
- Prior practical experience (e.g., previous internships or academic projects) in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD tools is a plus.
- Project Management knowledge / experience is a plus.
