Security Guard
Job Location:  North Charleston

Job Overview

 

The security technician performs security monitoring in the facility, ensures a safe environment for SHL staff and visitors, and protects SHL company assets.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Monitors building activity by performing security rounds.
  • Ability to work on a computer/ basic computer knowledge.
  • Monitors facility video surveillance and pulls footage when assigned by the manager.
  • Creates employee badges and key access request forms.
  • Prepares the facility and other SHL property for inclement weather/potential disasters.
  • locks/unlocks access points per manager approval.
  • Partners with other departments as needed.
  • Completes incident reports and escalates to management.
  • Active member of the Emergency response Team
  • Escorts visitors & staff within the facility
  • Follows established protocols and responsibilities in the emergency response plan.
  • Secures warehouse inventory and SHL Company Assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualification

 

  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • 2 years of experience as a security guard. Experience in a medical device manufacturing company is preferred.
  • Effective communication, attention to detail, conflict resolution, ability to think on your feet, understanding basic safety procedures/protocol, willingness to train and learn.
  • CPR training preferred.
  • CPR training obtained within thirty days of hire date and annually.
  • Prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, bending/stooping, Travel (auto driving)
  • Work Environment such as outside elements (heat or cold)
  • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.
