Job Overview
The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all plant manufacturing activities with responsibilities for production, quality, shipping, receiving, and other production-related activities. Additionally, this individual will assist in the planning, leading and controlling the manpower, equipment and material resources for all manufacturing operations at the facility.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain shift targets for assembly, labeling, and packaging.
- Staffs, trains, and develops manufacturing team members.
- Plans and assigns the workload for the manufacturing team to meet daily departmental requirements.
- Responsible for scheduling time off, maintaining overtime budget under control and conducting annual performance evaluations.
- Maintains the manufacturing operations in compliance with the current regulations, quality work instructions and policies.
- Monitors the site hazardous waste, shipment and that proper destruction documents are available.
- Monitors and maintains a safe working environment in all manufacturing operations according to Company safety policies and procedures.
- Enforces that proper GDP (good documentation practices) and maintenance of records are followed by the manufacturing team members.
- Interfaces and assist other Departments as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.
- Maintain Production Schedule (including assembly, packaging, maintenance, calibration, and validation activities).
- Work with the production clerk and the QA-Manager to expedite batch record review process, and NOE/NCRs that may arise during production.
- Input daily production machine/labor hours into SAP (ensure that each shift inputs the data in SAP).
- Ensure that all returns are correct and put into SAP correctly.
- Ensure all tasks are completed and data in SAP is accurate to perform User decision..
- Supervise 2 to 4 teams for assembly, labeling, and packaging on 1st or 2nd shift.
- Able to work overtime and weekends when needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Science or related area (equivalent experience will be considered), preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years’ manufacturing experience in an FDA-regulated environment.
- Quickly adapt to new direction or new responsibilities as needed
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be process oriented and maintain a constant vigilance towards process improvement by proposing new methods and technological/automated solutions
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of cGMPs in an FDA regulated environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA guidelines for safe practices.
- Able to lift 45lb boxes and work in refrigerators for extended periods of time given necessary PPEs.
