Job Overview

Responsible for end-to-end demand planning and sourcing management of machining parts, including supplier development, supplier capacity analysis for procurement distribution, and customer supplied material (CSM) coordination, ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery.

The Machining Part Demand Planning and Sourcing Specialist acts as a critical bridge between demand planning and supply execution. The role ensures machining parts are sourced from qualified suppliers with optimal cost structure and delivery performance.

This position requires strong analytical capability in demand planning, cost modeling, and supplier evaluation. The specialist must proactively manage supply risk and maintain supply continuity.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop demand forecasts for machining parts based on project schedule, production plan, and sales forecast.
  • Translate demand signals into procurement plans and align supplier capacity accordingly.
  • Lead supplier sourcing activities, including RFQ management, quotation comparison, cost breakdown analysis, and supplier selection.
  • Manage supplier performance under QCD framework (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
  • Plan and coordinate Customer Supplied Materials (CSM) or consigned components required by suppliers, including:
    • Preparing material readiness plan and timeline
    • Coordinating warehouse shipment schedule to suppliers
    • Ensuring suppliers receive CSM on time to continue production without disruption
  • Identify supply risks (capacity, material shortage, single source dependency) and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and supplier development programs.
  • Maintain SAP/MRP master data accuracy for machining parts and related materials.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Finance to ensure smooth supply execution.
  • Responsible for following all applicable SOPs and WIs at all the times.
  • Responsible to follow the principle of GMP.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments based on improvement needs in order to provide better service to the whole group.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
  • Require independent judgment.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in machining part sourcing or demand planning.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes (CNC, turning, milling), structural drawings, and BOM.
  • Knowledge of cost structure for machining parts.
  • SAP/ERP system proficiency.
  • Data analysis capability (Excel advanced level; Power BI preferred).
  • Requires high energy, good attitude, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of software applications.
  • Cross-functional communication ability.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Risk assessment and problem-solving capability.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical mindset.
